Ben Lee – Modality Systems
The high availability options for Lync Server improved dramatically in 2013 with the introduction of pool pairing. The technology added a much needed semi-automatic way for Lync to survive a data-center failure but this isn’t a “one size fits all” solution. Desiging and architecting a fully HA Lync environment is a complicatied task and depends on heavily on external factors to make it work such as networking, DNS, virtualisation etc..This session is not aiming to provide an overview of a “gold standard” HA Lync environment as such a thing doesn’t exist – customisations and different design choices will need to be taken for each unique environment. Instead, drawing on a recent real-world project, Ben will run through an example topology and explain the decisions taken behind the design and how testing was completed. Discussion is to be encouraged!
